PACIFIC SOUTHWEST RAILWAY MUSEUM

Presents

The 2008 North Pole Limited

a production featuring

Santa and his Elves

The 2008 North Pole Limited excursions have completed a very successful season. Many fortunate children now have memories that will last a lifetime. The Museum wishes to thank the many volunteers who worked both in sight of the children and behind the scenes. Santa couldn't have done it without you kind folks.

Each year, Santa notifies our Museum members first when his elves are ready to take reservations for his special trains. The best way to get YOUR choice of nights is to become a member of the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum. As a Museum Member you also have the opportunity to volunteer to help the elves on Santa's excursions. The Museum is always in need of kind and generous people to help serve the pubic, not only during the holidays, but all year round. Check here for membership information.

Santa is also compiling an email list of those interested in his 2009 excursions. These people will be sent advance notice (but after the membership is notified) of the tickets going on sale, probably in August 2009. If you would like to be added to this list please send a note to Santa indicating your return email address.

Sold Out Notice

Occasionally, some additional seats may become available on sold-out trains. You are encouraged to check this page from time to time to see if any seats become available. All seats for sale will be sold from this page and this page only. There is no need to call or email for availability, this is the only place where additional seats will be announced and made available for purchase.

The fun begins at the lighted Campo Depot with fun and good cheer. Once the Limited leaves the Depot Santa's Elves will serve cookies and hot chocolate. The Elves will visit with the passengers as the Limited rockets toward the North Pole. An on-board book reading of a famous Christmas book leads up to the magical arrival at Santa's Workshop. Santa will board the train for the return trip to Campo and will visit with all the children on the train (both large and small).

Be sure to join Santa in his special railroad car for photo opportunities and another special gift from Mrs Claus after arrival back at Campo. Santa's car is the last one on the train. Stop by and see this great railroad car and the great guy inside!

The Elves invite the children to wear their pajamas, just make sure they're dressed warmly!

Reservations are Required in Advance

Santa's Frequently Asked Questions

QuestionsAnswers
Will our tickets be mailed to us?
  • No. Just bring your emailed reservation confirmation with you to the Campo Depot. Your tickets will be waiting for you there.
The train leaves at 5:00 PM. When should we be there?
  • Santa doesn't want to see you miss his train, so plan on being at the Campo Depot by at least 4:30 PM, especially if you haven't been to Campo before.
    How long is the ride?
  • Plan on about 90-minutes for the ride, but it may take longer for Santa to see all the kids and have his photo taken with them. The train should be back in Campo before 7:00 PM.
But how do we find the Campo Depot?
  • Here's a map link to the Depot.
    Should the kids wear pjs?
  • Sure, just make sure they're dressed warmly!
We purchased our tickets at different times. Will we be able to sit together?
  • This shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you're all together when you board the train.
    What happens if it rains?
  • Santa will run these trips regardless of the weather. Rain, snow, it doesn't matter, the trains will run. All windows in the passenger cars are covered (no open windows) and you may wait in your automobiles until boarding time if necessary. Sorry, no rain refunds or reschedules.
    What if we get hungry?
  • The Depot Gift Shop has light snacks for sale. You may also bring a picnic dinner with you to eat on the train if you'd like. There's also a nice restaurant in the Golden Acorn Casino if you would like a sit-down dinner. The Golden Acorn's restaurant is child-friendly. Please see the link at the bottom of this page.
When can we reserve seats for next year?
  • Check the Museum's Web Site in July for scheduling and reservation information. Also note that Museum volunteers and members receive advance notice of special excursions. Santa recommends joining the Museum to get a jump on next year's trip.

The Museum wishes to thank its corporate sponsors for their helping Santa with his North Pole Limited. Santa can always use help with his trains. If you are interested in corporate sponsorship for this and or next year, please send a note to Santa.
